"She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciples, the one whom JESUS loved. She said, "They have taken the LORD'S body out of the tomb, and I don't know where they have put HIM!" John 20:2

Last week, we began sharing the death and resurrection of JESUS CHRIST with the children. Three years ago, I was blessed by a dear brother in the LORD Steve and his wife Laurie who took me with them to Israel.  Among the many places we visited was the tomb where JESUS was laid. As I began to tell the children the story, I felt drawn back to that day.  I told the children to repeat after me "So they went to the tomb, they were looking for JESUS, but HE wasn't there. Then an Angel asked them, 'Why look among the dead for the living?  HE is not here, HE has Risen.'" We walk around the day care alerting the staff to let them know HE has Risen.

Thursday. April 21st, we are having a clothing giveaway here at the day care.  Just another opportunity to let people know that JESUS HAS RISEN! HE HAS RISEN INDEED.

Graduation is approaching us fast. It's a pretty big deal here at the day care because some of our girls come to us as early as freshmen year in high school. However, this month we want to celebrate someone equally special. Her name is Estella Pitts. She works with my infants/toddlers. Most of us call her Ms. Stelle. She has worked here with me for over thirteen years. Ms. Stelle is in her early fifties. When I asked the staff to go back to school in January of this year, I must admit everyone wasn 't in agreement with me.  It was like pulling teeth.

Many years ago a man named Greg Shaw had come here from Willow Creek Church. God used this brother to teach Ms. Stelle how to read.  Through his teaching, Ms. Stelle became one of the best spellers we had known. She could spell almost anyything, but when we talked about her going back to school, she would freeze up with fear. She said, "All I can think about is me being the oldest person in the class."  I'm proud to say that Ms. Estella Pitts graduated from high school, March 26, 2011.  She is looking forward to starting child development classes this summer.

We saved the best for last. We have never cared for a child while his father was trying to complete school.  Meet Antoneil and his son, Antoneil Jr.  When we first met Antoneil Jr., he came with his mom and his dad, Antoneil.  At seventeen, the mom decided she wasn't going to school.  She had gotten her a job at McDonalds. We talked and decided that the child, Antoneil needed to be here with us.  Little did we know that this would be the last time we saw the mother. Weeks went by as the father continued to bring the child, sometimes his mother; the child's grandmother would come, but never the child's mother.  I finally said, "I need paperwork signed that only the mother can sign.  Also, mom has not attended any meetings this month, where is she?"  His grandmother said, I'll attend the meeting for her."  We kept Antoneil for another full month before his father told us his mother worked and he had no one to keep Antoneil.  We are so glad Antoneil didn't give up on us. We are proud to say that Antoneil Henry will get his GED Certificate on May 4, 2011.  "Publish HIS glorious deeds among the nations: Tell everyone about the amazing things HE does. Great is the LORD! HE is most worthy of Praise! ... Psalm 96:3,4

By HIS Grace!
